THE KAVEYRA GUIDES / FIT

How to prepare for an occasionwear measurement appointment

Bring the shoes and underlayers you plan to wear, follow the measuring guide the maker approves, and note the conditions behind every number. A measurement means little without context. Careful preparation gives the person taking it a clearer picture and gives you a record you can check later.

What should you bring?

An occasion outfit is worn with particular things, so the appointment should include them. The aim is to be measured close to how you will actually stand and move on the day.

  • The shoes you intend to wear, or a pair with the same heel height.
  • The underlayers you plan to wear beneath the garment.
  • Any jewellery or accessory that sits at the neck or wrist and might affect how sleeves or necklines are judged.
  • A photo or link to the garment you are considering, so the conversation stays specific.
  • A notebook or phone note ready for recording numbers and remarks.

Which guide should you follow?

General guides explain why measuring matters: fit depends on more than bust, waist and hip, and shoulders and lengths can matter just as much. That is useful background. It is not a substitute for the instructions of whoever will make or fit your garment.

Different makers measure at different points and allow for movement in their own ways. If you follow a general method and the maker expects another, the numbers may not translate. Ask for their guide first, and treat any general article, including this one, as preparation for that conversation rather than a replacement for it.

For the KAVEYRA Royal Blue Anarkali, the maker guide and detailed measurements are not yet available in the preorder planner. Until they are, hold off on finalising numbers.

What should be recorded with the numbers?

A number written alone invites doubt later. Note the circumstances so you and the maker can interpret it the same way.

RecordWhy it helps
Date and who measuredLets you trace any discrepancy back to its source

Keeping your draft safe

The KAVEYRA preorder planner holds a draft in the open browser page. It does not submit, reserve or charge anything. Copy or download your notes explicitly whenever you want to keep them, rather than relying on the page.

A preparation checklist

  • Maker's measuring guide received and read.
  • Shoes or matching heel height packed.
  • Intended underlayers on or packed.
  • Garment reference saved.
  • Recording template ready with the fields above.
  • Questions written down for anything the guide leaves unclear.
  • Notes copied somewhere you control after the appointment.

YOUR NEXT STEP

Before booking, ask the maker for their measuring guide, then set out your shoes and underlayers and prepare a note with fields for method, footwear and comfort beside each number.
